AusPATH Statement on Interim Report of The UK Independent Review of Gender Identity Services for Children and Young People (The Cass Review)

The AusPATH Board is aware that The Independent Review of Gender Identity Services for Children and Young People (The Cass Review) in the UK has issued an interim report. Here is a link to their executive summary.

The AusPATH Board is aware that certain publications are trying to use this report to argue for change in the provision of gender affirming care to young people with gender incongruence in Australia. Our review of the executive summary suggests that the Cass Review does not advocate for changes that would fundamentally change how we provide gender affirming care to young people with gender incongruence in Australia.

The AusPATH Board will review the full document carefully with the AusPATH Policy Committee, and intends to issue a response to it.
